Tesla Driver Faces Citation Following Accident at Notorious Collision Hotspot

Maricopa Police and Fire Departments responded around 8:30 a.m. today to a two-car collision at Desert Greens Drive and Smith-Enke Road, an area known for frequent accidents.
The incident involved a red Tesla Model Y sedan and a white GMC Denali SUV. Initial reports indicate that the Tesla was turning from southbound Desert Greens to eastbound Smith-Enke when it was struck by the GMC Denali.
According to MPD spokesperson Monica Williams, the front of the GMC was severely damaged, while the Tesla sustained noticeable dents on the front passenger side.
Williams stated that the driver of the Tesla was cited for failure to yield. By 9:10 a.m., the GMC Denali was being loaded onto a tow truck, with another tow truck arriving shortly after for the Tesla.
No injuries were reported, and the scene was slated for clearance by 9:40 a.m.
