Honor Veterans Day with Free Access to National Parks: Explore the Grand Canyon!

In a move to honor Veterans Day, all U.S. national parks will waive entry fees on Monday, Nov. 11. This initiative encompasses 425 sites managed by the National Park Service, where fees typically reach up to $35 per vehicle. Visitors do not need passes or reservations to take advantage of this opportunity.
Among the popular destinations in the Southwest are Arizona’s Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, and Saguaro national parks, alongside Utah’s Zion and Bryce Canyon, all accessible from Lake Havasu City. These sites are expected to attract many visitors eager to explore the natural beauty and historic features.
California’s famed parks, including Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Sequoia, and Pinnacles, are also anticipating increased foot traffic. To maximize enjoyment and avoid congestion, park officials suggest arriving early.
Visitors should come prepared with essential supplies such as water, food, and maps, as some parks may have limited amenities. Additional resources, including park maps, are available for download at nps.gov.
Veterans Day is one of five designated fee-free days throughout the year, an initiative by the National Park Service aimed at encouraging public access to federal lands.
