The Maricopa Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred at the Cricket Wireless store located in the Maricopa Market on John Wayne Parkway. The incident was reported today around 1 p.m. by Marcelo Nordenflycht, who shared the information in the InMaricopa Facebook group.

According to reports, a male suspect entered the store and took an iPhone 16, the latest model released on September 20, without paying. Surveillance footage suggested that he concealed the phone in his pants as he left the store.

Monica Williams, spokesperson for the Maricopa Police Department, confirmed the details, stating, “MPD is currently working on a theft report at this location. A male subject did steal a phone and left the store.”

The suspect has been described as a Black male wearing red sneakers, khaki pants, and a blue and grey hooded sweatshirt, paired with red headwear. He was also carrying a backpack at the time of the theft. Nordenflycht noted that the suspect was seen riding a bicycle and urged anyone with information to contact him or the police.
