Maintaining roads a top priority for Cave Creek

During the Cave Creek Town Council meeting on September 16, the Mayor and Council reached a unanimous decision to approve an updated pavement management analysis along with a comprehensive assessment of the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) for local roads. This analysis is crucial, as it enables the town to effectively prioritize maintenance efforts to elevate street conditions to the desired standards. Maintaining streets ranks as a primary focus in both the Strategic Plan and Town budgets.

The completion of identified projects outlined in the previous 2020 Pavement Management Plan paves the way for this updated analysis, which will guide the allocation of the town’s management funds for maximum impact.

“Well-maintained roads are a priority for the Town,” stated Mayor Robert Morris. “The engineering study will provide us a roadmap to improve our streets and save money from more costly repairs in the long run.”

The town has contracted with Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) for an amount not exceeding $29,435. IMS is tasked with assessing the condition of all paved roadways in Cave Creek, recommending projects for improvement, and establishing a baseline for future measurements of road conditions.

As part of their study, IMS will evaluate 96 miles of roadway. This survey will quantify types, severity, and quality of pavement surface distresses, including issues like cracking and rutting.

In other news, the Town of Cave Creek has launched a refreshed version of its website. The redesign features an updated color scheme and improved navigation tools, enhancing the user experience for visitors seeking information.

While the site’s URL, www.cavecreekaz.gov, remains unchanged, returning users will notice a visually appealing home page showcasing the town’s natural beauty, alongside colorful navigation buttons with clearer descriptions. A calendar on the home page highlights upcoming events. Interior pages have also been revitalized, featuring cleaner layouts that facilitate easier reading, and the site is now optimized for smartphones.
