Access to critical information should not come with a price tag. For families balancing hectic schedules, the ability to find alternate routes or key polling locations is essential and should remain freely available.

During my journalism education, it was emphasized that writing should be accessible to everyone. This includes those with learning disabilities, English language learners, and young students. All individuals deserve unimpeded access to essential news and information.

In my early career, I experienced a paywall firsthand, with a former employer charging $39 monthly for online access. Such fees can prove burdensome, especially for the average American navigating today’s challenging economy.

This Thanksgiving, I express gratitude toward our advertisers who have enabled the InMaricopa team to deliver quality journalism without fees. Their support ensures that communities receive timely updates, whether through monthly magazines or daily online headlines.

From early morning interviews in local fields to covering poignant stories of affected residents, our ability to report relies heavily on our sponsors. They empower us to investigate significant issues, such as the upcoming waterpark development set to transform our city.
