Cool weather, increased police presence expected for Halloween

Lake Havasu City is gearing up for a festive Halloween night, with numerous events planned for residents and visitors. As children prepare to go Trick or Treating, local authorities are taking extra precautions to ensure safety.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department announced enhanced traffic and DUI enforcement will take place over the next two days, thanks to a grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. This initiative aims to promote a safe environment for all Halloween celebrants.

Sgt. Kyle Ridgway urged the community to celebrate responsibly. He emphasized the importance of being vigilant on the roads, reminding drivers to slow down in areas with high pedestrian activity.

Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic for most of the day, allowing for the 19th Annual Main Street Halloween Fright Night festivities to proceed smoothly.

Residents can expect cooler weather tonight, with temperatures dropping to around 53 degrees. Light winds will accompany the evening, with sunset occurring at 5:45 p.m. This atmospheric shift may add a spooky chill to the night’s celebrations.
