Holland Center Unleashes Talent at Thrilling High School Poetry Jam
High school students across Arizona are invited to engage in a day of creativity and expression at the High School Poetry Jam featuring Brandon Leake, the Season 15 winner of “America’s Got Talent.” Scheduled for November 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Holland Center in Scottsdale, the event welcomes poets, writers, and rappers from grades 9-12. Participants can look forward to an enriching experience with spoken word performances and practical advice on expressing themselves through art.
Leake encourages youth to share their stories and emotions in a supportive environment. “This is a space to share those thoughts – without judgment – on stage, if you choose, or just in your notebook,” he stated, underscoring the importance of creative expression.
Jennifer Rosvall, Executive Director of The Holland Center, emphasized the therapeutic benefits of poetry, noting its recognition by health professionals as a valuable healing tool. “We are humbled and honored that Brandon will be at The Holland Center to not only teach poetry as art but also help our youth see poetry as a healthy outlet for their thoughts and emotions,” she remarked.
Tickets for the event are priced at $10, which includes lunch and a swag bag. Due to space limitations, early ticket purchase is recommended to guarantee participation.
