Man indicted after allegedly bludgeoning roommate with metal pipe

A man from Lake Havasu City is facing serious felony charges after an alleged assault involving a blunt instrument during a dispute earlier this month. Police responded to a domestic violence call on the evening of October 5 at a residence on Oro Grande Boulevard.

Witnesses reported seeing a victim lying in the driveway while 39-year-old Patrick C. McLaine shouted threats. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim with injuries, including bleeding from his forehead and an open wound on his knee. Immediate medical assistance was called in.

According to the victim, the altercation began when McLaine became irate over loud music in the neighborhood. After McLaine yelled about the noise, the victim asked him to stop, leading to the alleged assault. Reports indicate that McLaine struck the victim’s head multiple times and also targeted his torso.

During the confrontation, the victim claims McLaine repeatedly shouted threats to kill him. The injured individual was subsequently taken to Havasu Regional Medical Center for treatment, while McLaine was detained at the scene.

Police found corroborating evidence, including witness statements and a pool of blood on the rear patio of the property. Further questioning revealed that McLaine had been drinking prior to the incident, reportedly consuming several alcoholic beverages.

McLaine now faces multiple felony charges, including disorderly conduct with a weapon and aggravated assault, as well as several misdemeanors related to assault, disorderly conduct, and criminal damage to property. Court records confirm that he was indicted on October 10 in Mohave Superior Court.
