Rich Vitiello, the former Vice Mayor of Maricopa, is vying for the position of Pinal County Supervisor in District 1, with the endorsement of Casa Grande Mayor Craig McFarland. During a recent gathering at Arizona State University’s Decision Theater in Tempe, Vitiello shared his deep-rooted connection to Maricopa and emphasized his commitment to the community.

Having moved to Maricopa 19 years ago, Vitiello expressed gratitude for the welcoming environment that allowed his family to thrive. He actively engages with the local community through volunteer work with the police department and food pantry. Additionally, he organizes an annual softball tournament aimed at supporting a former corrections officer injured in a tragic accident.

Vitiello’s involvement in the city government has been marked by a focus on safety and growth. His initiative to address the pressing issue of railway overpass construction significantly improved traffic flow. Reflecting on his role, he stated, “The mission of government is to serve the public, not the other way around.”

During his tenure on the city council, Vitiello was instrumental in various infrastructure projects, including the construction of a new police station and courthouse. He championed tax reductions for six consecutive years while avoiding any increase in the city’s debt, showcasing his dedication to prudent financial management.

Vitiello is eager to continue his service, supported by endorsements from prominent local leaders, including former mayors and fellow officials. He urged voters to choose his candidacy for Pinal County Supervisor, with aspirations not only for Maricopa but for the entire District 1.

His campaign reflects a blend of personal experience, community involvement, and a deep understanding of governmental responsibilities. As the election approaches, Vitiello seeks the support of constituents who value dedication and effective local governance.
