Maricopa Resident’s Bold Choice: Voting for the Opponent in the Supervisor Race
George Arredondo Sr., a Democratic candidate for the position of Pinal County supervisor representing Maricopa, is closely connected to the community he seeks to serve.
Born in Florence and raised in Coolidge, Arredondo hails from a family with deep roots in the area. His family background includes his mother Maria, a native of Douglas, and his father David, a Texan who worked as a farm foreman.
With a robust background in public service that spans over 25 years, Arredondo has worked with various government agencies, including the USDA and the U.S. military. He established his own ranch in Coolidge four years ago, transforming from public servant to local business owner. This experience fueled his desire to give back, prompting him to run for office.
“Two things motivated me to run for Supervisor,” Arredondo stated. “First, I was concerned about the current supervisor’s actions undermining our democratic process. I want to protect the integrity of our elections.”
He expressed a need for proactive management of the county’s growth, emphasizing infrastructure development as a key priority. “I could not allow this responsibility to fall to someone ill-equipped for the task,” he added. “Our democracy is at stake.”
A father, stepfather, and grandfather, Arredondo resides in Coolidge with his wife, Monica. His local involvement includes prior service on the Coolidge School Board and as a councilman for the city.
With 22 years in the Navy Reserve and numerous tour experiences, Arredondo retired as a master chief petty officer. His extensive career includes management roles on county, state, and federal levels, notably during the Clinton Administration as an associate administrator for the Farm Service Agency.
“As a business owner, I’ve navigated the complexities of maintaining competitiveness,” he remarked. “My experiences position me to effectively address the needs of our county.”
Arredondo is focused on governance that promotes efficiency and accountability. “My goal is to enhance our county’s operational capabilities and empower employees to reach their potential,” he stated, underscoring his commitment to nurturing the next generation.
With a clear vision for Pinal County, Arredondo aims to safeguard democratic principles and manage the region’s growth responsibly. “I will ensure our elections are adequately funded and protected. Accountability is vital to maintaining the integrity of our democratic processes,” he stressed.
Furthermore, he is committed to strategic planning to maintain the county’s rural character while improving infrastructure. “We must be judicious with our resources as we prioritize public safety and ensure effective governance,” he concluded.
As a dedicated community member, George Arredondo Sr. is poised to lead Pinal County into a future marked by responsibility and progress.
