Tanker Crash Disrupts Loop 101 Northbound Traffic Near Camelback Road

PHOENIX — A significant multi-vehicle accident occurred on Loop 101 Agua Fria, just south of Camelback Road, blocking the highway and resulting in road closures. Five vehicles, including a propane tanker, were involved in the crash, prompting HAZMAT crews to assist with the cleanup efforts.

Currently, all northbound lanes are closed at Indian School Road, while the southbound lanes experienced temporary closures at Camelback Road. However, the southbound lanes have since reopened for traffic.

Officials from the Phoenix Fire Department have reported that one individual sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has been transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising drivers to seek alternate routes due to ongoing delays. As of now, there is no estimated time for reopening the affected northbound lanes.
