California welcome sign

The Arizona Free Enterprise Club (AFEC) unveiled its new initiative, dontCAmyAZ.com, on Friday. This website aims to inform Arizonans about the potential risks of adopting policies similar to those in California, which many believe have contributed to its decline from prosperity.

Aimee Yentes, Vice President of AFEC, expressed concerns in her statement, highlighting the urgency of the campaign. “For years, we have warned about California’s oppressive, big-government policies infiltrating our state. As more Californians move here in search of safety and affordability, Arizona’s way of life is at risk. The ‘Don’t CA my AZ’ campaign will educate residents on how to preserve Arizona’s freedoms.”

The organization pointed out that the Arizona legislature is currently under a narrow Republican majority, which faces challenges from the Democrat governor, Katie Hobbs. Hobbs is reportedly focused on flipping the legislature rather than cooperating with the existing Republican leadership, consistently vetoing legislation. The club argues that if Democrats gain total control of the legislature, it could lead Arizona down a path similar to California, a scenario that hasn’t occurred in over sixty years.

DontCAmyAZ.com features detailed information about various bills and initiatives that threaten to impose policies that have reportedly devastated California. These bills are categorized into three key areas:

Dangerous Open Borders & Endless Crime

The site cautions that policies promoting open borders and reduced penalties for crimes could replicate California’s struggles, warning that such changes would attract criminal activity and undermine public safety.

Costly High Taxes & High Unemployment

AFEC warns that proposed measures could elevate Arizona’s tax burden, stifle housing development, and over-regulate small businesses, echoing issues faced in California.

Oppressive Woke Schools & Corruption

The site alleges that certain educational policies could result in racial discrimination and controversial practices affecting minors, reflecting deeper societal divides seen in California.

AFEC makes a strong case that if these bills were to become law, Arizona could experience heightened crime rates, increased taxes, and a shift towards a culture reminiscent of California’s current challenges.

In addition to the website, AFEC has established social media accounts on platforms like X, Instagram, and TikTok to engage younger voters and raise awareness about these critical issues.
