Major I-10 Bus Crash Near 7th Street Brings Traffic to a Standstill

PHOENIX — An early morning bus crash on Interstate 10 eastbound has resulted in significant traffic disruptions near 7th Street. The Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that there were 30 to 35 passengers aboard at the time of the incident.
While the specific cause of the crash remains unclear, DPS has confirmed that no other vehicles were involved. Initial assessments indicate that injuries occurred, with a Phoenix Fire Department crew actively working to gauge their severity.
Captain Shaun DuBois of the fire department stated that most injuries appear to be minor. However, one adult was reported to be in “extremely critical condition” and required transport to the hospital.
The HOV lane, along with the first two regular lanes, is currently blocked, leading to heavy traffic congestion. Authorities have not yet provided an estimated time for reopening.
