35-Year-Old Father of Five Murdered in Shocking Phoenix Assault
PHOENIX — Authorities are investigating a tragic incident in which 35-year-old Ethan Jaaziel Felix was deliberately struck and killed by a vehicle on Friday evening. The incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. near 16th Street and Thomas Road, prompting a swift response from the Phoenix Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers found Felix suffering from severe injuries. Subsequent investigations revealed that his injuries were sustained from a purposeful vehicular assault.
Brian Felix, Ethan’s father, provided insights into the circumstances surrounding the event. He stated, “I was told that he was hit by a vehicle, [got] caught between his vehicle and that other person’s vehicle. At which time he was being assaulted, stabbed and that consequently caused him to lose consciousness.”
Brian expressed disbelief that anyone would want to harm his son, as the family was preparing to celebrate their 37th wedding anniversary. Instead, they faced the heart-wrenching reality of visiting the medical examiner’s office.
Ethan’s older brother, Breon, remembered him fondly, highlighting his genuine and caring nature. “This was just so devastating and it happened to someone who was genuine, loving and caring, very intelligent and giving,” he said. “He had all the best parts of me times 100.”
The tragedy also leaves behind five children, who now face a future without their father. Brenda Felix, Ethan’s mother, lamented, “In the best times of their lives, they’re growing up. They needed their dad, and he’s not going to be there for them.”
The Phoenix Police Department is actively seeking public assistance in apprehending the suspect responsible for this heinous act. “I want people to know that if they know who this person is, which I do believe they do by conversations I have had, to turn him in,” Brian Felix urged. “So the family can get justice, so we can rest a little bit easier at night and bring some peace to his children and parents.”
Brenda echoed this plea, emphasizing the importance of justice, “Please do not let this person or persons get away with this.”
