2nd man in a week charged with strangling, imprisoning woman in cheating confrontation

Anthony Richard Salazar, 31, was arrested on March 31, 2025, charged with strangulation and illegal imprisonment of his girlfriend in Maricopa. This incident marks the second case of domestic violence in the area within a week.

According to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, police responded to a reported domestic disturbance at Salazar’s home on Palo Olmo Road. Upon arrival, officers found the woman in distress, displaying visible injuries, including bruises around her eyes.

The victim reported being attacked during a confrontation over suspicions of infidelity. She described how Salazar allegedly pulled her hair and strangled her for a duration of five to ten seconds. During the altercation, he reportedly ripped her shirt and restrained her from escaping.

Salazar’s admission to law enforcement included acknowledging that he “lost his cool,” despite denying that his hands had touched her neck. He did, however, admit to damaging her iPhone, estimated at $700.

Salazar was subsequently booked into the Pinal County jail, facing potential sentencing of over 12 years if convicted on all counts.

The earlier incident involving Keane Lennox Cuevas-Ingeneri, 24, occurred just six days prior. Authorities arrested him on March 25 after responding to a similar domestic violence call. The victim claimed he strangled her during an argument fueled by infidelity accusations, leaving her with visible injuries.

Cuevas-Ingeneri’s account mirrored Salazar’s in claiming to have “lost his cool.” He admitted to the police that his hands ended up near her neck during the struggle. When questioned about blood on his clothing, he attributed it to an injury sustained while pursuing her around their home.

Both men now face severe charges, with Cuevas-Ingeneri facing up to 14 years if convicted. In light of these incidents, community resources are available for those experiencing domestic violence, including the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-SAFE (7233).
