2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Lineup Unveiled: Exciting Performers Set for Spectacle

NEW YORK — This year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade promises to be a grand spectacle featuring an impressive lineup. Attendees can expect to see 17 giant character balloons, 22 floats, and 11 marching bands among a vibrant cast of entertainers.
A diverse array of stars will grace the parade, including reality TV personality Ariana Madix, Broadway star Idina Menzel, and hip-hop artist T-Pain. Representing sports, members of the WNBA champion New York Liberty will also partake, along with country duo Dan + Shay.
Music lovers will be treated to performances from The War and Treaty, Lea Salonga, and iconic groups like The Temptations. The lineup further includes social media sensations like Charli D’Amelio and Jimmy Fallon with The Roots, among others. The Associated Press revealed these details ahead of the holiday event.
Kicking off at 8:30 a.m. on November 28 in all time zones, the parade will be introduced by actress Alison Brie, known for her role in “Glow” and her current project, “Apples Never Fall.”
Will Coss, executive producer of the parade, emphasized their goal to spread joy on Thanksgiving morning, fueling their efforts to delight millions. The event will air live on NBC and be streamed on Peacock, with a Spanish-language simulcast on Telemundo featuring Carlos Adyan and Andrea Meza.
This year, six new character balloons will join the lineup, including appearances by Minnie Mouse and a special balloon themed around the “Gabby’s Dollhouse.” This float will present a 55-foot-tall balloon designed with ten shades of pink, featuring characters Gabby and Pandy Paws.
Traci Paige Johnson, co-creator of the beloved “Gabby’s Dollhouse,” recalled the magic of the Thanksgiving parade during her childhood in New Jersey. “To see something you created becoming part of such a cherished tradition is indescribable,” she stated.
Year after year, spectators gather along the parade route, eager to witness the floats, performers, and marching bands. This tradition of celebrity guest appearances before Santa continues, although this year’s headliner remains a closely guarded secret.
Broadway will shine through performances from shows like “Death Becomes Her” and “Riverdance,” as well as traditional acts like the Radio City Rockettes. New floats will showcase popular brands such as Disney Cruise Line and Netflix’s “Wednesday,” along with a whimsical design for Rao’s food brand featuring a knight and a dragon.
Marching bands from states including Texas, Georgia, and Massachusetts will bring musical flair, while members of the New York Liberty will join their mascot, Ellie the Elephant, in celebration of their recent WNBA Championship win.
As planning begins for next year’s parade, Coss describes it as “the largest variety show on television,” showcasing a committed team dedicated to creating unforgettable memories. With preparations already underway, anticipation for this Thanksgiving’s parade continues to build.
