2 Uber passengers hospitalized after crash in Glendale, police say

GLENDALE, Ariz. — A multi-car collision on Saturday night has left two individuals hospitalized, according to the Glendale Police Department.

The crash occurred at the intersection of 57th Drive and Grand Avenue, just southeast of the Grand and Glendale avenues junction. Authorities reported that two vehicles collided at this busy intersection.

One female passenger in a rideshare vehicle, believed to be an Uber, was found unresponsive but breathing at the scene. She is currently in critical condition at a nearby hospital. Another female passenger sustained injuries, although they were not life-threatening, the police indicated.

Investigators noted that several other individuals were present in each vehicle. Police are still assessing the situation to determine the full extent of injuries involved. It appears that both drivers attempted to beat a yellow light, leading to the crash.

Authorities do not suspect impairment as a contributing factor to the incident, but they continue to gather information. The area is expected to have road closures for an extended period as the Vehicular Crimes unit conducts a thorough investigation.

No identification details for those involved have been disclosed at this time. As the situation evolves, more information will be released.

This is a developing story, and updates will follow.
