2 Rescued from Maricopa Mountains Following Dramatic SR 238 Rollover

A vehicle rollover occurred on State Route 238 this afternoon, leading to the transport of two individuals to a local hospital. The incident involved a pickup truck and an SUV and was reported at 3:16 p.m. by deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident took place in the Maricopa Mountains, just west of Mobile. Eyewitnesses noted that a Jeep Compass was found on its side in the desert brush adjacent to the eastbound lane, while a Chevrolet Silverado rested in a ditch near the railroad tracks.

By 4 p.m., emergency personnel were evaluating the two occupants of the Silverado, who were identified as an elderly man and woman. Their injuries, while requiring medical attention, were not life-threatening. The driver of the overturned Jeep did not sustain significant injuries.

Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez reported that tow trucks had been requested and were in the process of clearing the scene. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing, with no preliminary conclusions available from the MCSO at this time.
