Tragedy struck on State Route 80 over the weekend, claiming the lives of three motorcyclists—a significant loss for their communities. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Sunday, near milepost 308, roughly eight miles south of St. David, close to Tombstone, Arizona.

According to Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson Bart Graves, the collision involved four vehicles and began when a red Infinity SUV crossed the center median, colliding with three motorcycles. Unfortunately, two riders died at the scene while a third was transported to a Tucson hospital but later succumbed to injuries.

The deceased are identified as 37-year-old Anthony Odell Davis from Maricopa and 40-year-old Bennie Melvin Eugene Dansby of Glendale. Both were riding black Harley Davidson motorcycles. A third victim, 55-year-old James Maurice Samuel from Rancho El Dorado, was the motorcyclist who was hospitalized before being pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV, a 41-year-old man from Huachuca City, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to a Tucson medical facility. Authorities suspect impairment and indicated that criminal charges may follow pending further investigation.
