Maricopa police apprehended two individuals last week in separate drug-related incidents involving domestic violence, as outlined in recent arrest reports.

The first incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on a Thursday at a residence on Sandhill Road. A woman reported that her friend, 19-year-old Zitevia Nevaeh Bahati-Steward, was “on drugs and attacking everyone in the house.” When officers arrived, they found Bahati-Steward asking repeatedly, “What’s your intention?” She was subsequently detained on nearby Zion Road after refusing to explain her injuries.

Witnesses informed law enforcement that Bahati-Steward had verbally assaulted her sister before escalating to physical violence. Reports indicate she struck both her sister and the caller in the face, leaving a visible mark on the caller’s jaw. The situation intensified when Bahati-Steward allegedly turned her aggression toward her grandmother, injuring her arms during an intervention attempt.

Bahati-Steward now faces charges of three counts of assault with intent to injure or provoke and three counts of disorderly conduct, potentially resulting in a two-and-a-half-year jail sentence.

In a separate incident just 30 minutes earlier, police responded to a domestic disturbance on Coltin Way in Rancho El Dorado. Two women reported that 34-year-old Oscar Medina had been locked out due to his erratic behavior linked to substance use. According to police, Medina reacted by vandalizing property, overturning furniture, and ultimately entering the home through a doggie door.

Once inside, Medina allegedly threw a bottle, narrowly missing a woman named Rodriguez, and damaging a wall. Law enforcement confirmed this account through physical evidence and surveillance footage, although Medina initially denied responsibility. He later admitted to throwing rocks when presented with the video evidence.

Medina was arrested around 12:30 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damage, facing a maximum of one year in jail.

No serious injuries were reported in either case. Both individuals remain in custody as they await court proceedings.
