19-Year-Old Woman Arrested After Shocking Pool Brawl at Copper Sky: Watch the Video!

A young woman was arrested following a violent altercation at Maricopa’s Copper Sky Aquatic Center during the Memorial Day weekend. The Maricopa Police Department responded to the scene after a fight erupted near the outdoor pool and escalated inside the recreation facility.

Iyanna Shaw, 19, faces multiple charges, including assault, endangerment, and disorderly conduct, according to police spokesperson Monica Williams. The incident is currently under investigation by the Maricopa Police Department.

Video footage from resident Ramon Soria captures a chaotic scene where Shaw is seen arguing with a group of individuals in the pool area. In the footage, she can be heard shouting obscenities at another woman while lifeguards and bystanders attempt to intervene. One bystander cautions Shaw, saying, “Girl, you better watch your mouth,” as tensions rise.

As the dispute continued, the altercation shifted indoors. Inside the aquatic center building, Shaw was observed hitting others, and the fight progressed into the women’s locker room, despite efforts from staff to deescalate the situation.

Williams emphasized the commitment to patron and staff safety, stating, “As with any incident, we are reviewing our policies and practices to determine if any changes need to be made to meet that expectation.”
