Explore the Cosmos

The Holland Center, in collaboration with the Desert Foothills Land Trust, will host an engaging evening for stargazers and science enthusiasts alike on December 3rd. The event, titled “Starry Desert Nights,” will commence at 6:00 PM at the Holland Center, welcoming the community to delve into the mysteries of the cosmos.

Jenny Hall, a noted speaker from Paradise Valley Community College, will lead the discussion, sharing her insights about the night sky and the science behind stars. Attendees will not only gain knowledge but will also have the opportunity to observe celestial phenomena firsthand, thanks to professional-grade telescopes provided by local astronomy aficionados.

Vicki Preston, the President and CEO of Desert Foothills Land Trust, expressed excitement about the event, stating, “This event offers a perfect blend of education and hands-on experience.” The collaboration will showcase the collective passion and expertise of both Hall and local stargazers.

The event is free for the public; however, prior registration is necessary due to limited seating availability. Interested participants can reserve their places by visiting dflt.org/speakerseries.
