PHOENIX — A fire in north Phoenix injured one person and displaced eight others, authorities reported. The incident occurred Wednesday at approximately 1:30 p.m. near 19th Avenue and Union Hills.
The Phoenix Fire Department responded promptly, locating two homes engulfed in smoke and flames. Fortunately, crews ensured that no individuals were inside the structures before working to extinguish the fire.
One person sustained minor burn injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
In the aftermath, a community assistance program has stepped in to support those affected by the fire, helping them find temporary shelter and resources.
This incident was one of three fires reported in Phoenix at the same time, underscoring the department’s challenge in managing multiple emergencies simultaneously.
