Xanax dealer, 23, with fake ID ran from cops during third-straight DUI: report

An alleged drug dealer was blackout drunk when he attempted to flee from police after a late-night party, according to the Maricopa Police Department.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Isaac M. Barrett, has a history of DUI convictions. On Wednesday morning in The Villages at Rancho El Dorado, Barrett reportedly committed numerous traffic violations as officers pursued him.

Barrett faces multiple felony charges, including unlawful flight, possession of prescription drugs for sale, promoting prison contraband, and aggravated DUI. He also faces a misdemeanor charge for unlawful use of a driver’s license.

The incident began when Barrett’s father contacted police around 3 a.m. He reported that his son had arrived home on North Madison Drive intoxicated, with two potentially damaged tires. Barrett became agitated and drove off.

Officers located Barrett driving south on North Butterfield Parkway without rear lights. When they attempted to stop him near Eddie Way, Barrett fled, prompting a brief chase. He eventually pulled over on an undisclosed road.

Upon being apprehended, Barrett told officers he “did not know” why he had not stopped earlier. During a search, police found another person’s driver’s license in his wallet and a prescription bottle for Xanax from a Mexican pharmacy in his Kia Sportage. Barrett denied knowledge of the drugs.

Barrett admitted to officers that he had been drinking heavily and was unsure how he had managed to get home from the party.

If convicted on all charges, Barrett could face over 28 years in prison.
