Woman Hospitalized Following Dramatic Last Night’s JWP Crash in Edison

A woman was hospitalized following a traffic accident last night at the intersection of John Wayne Parkway and Edison Road, as reported by the Maricopa Police Department.

The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m., causing two southbound lanes of John Wayne Parkway to be blocked. The preliminary report indicated involvement of two vehicles, and authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

This intersection has gained notoriety, being the same site where a drunken driver crashed into an MPD patrol car during a police pursuit last weekend. It is also recognized as one of the most crash-prone locations in the city.

In a separate traffic event earlier today, a driver on Lakeview Drive lost control and toppled a large date palm around 9 a.m. By noon, crews had successfully cleared the tree from the roadway.
