The City of Flagstaff’s Stormwater Management Section invites you to join a community effort to assist with sandbag removal operations in the Coconino Estates neighborhood. This volunteer event is crucial for disposing of temporary flood mitigations and cleaning up related debris.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Removing sandbags
- Disposing of debris
- General clean-up tasks
What You’ll Need:
- The City will provide gloves, safety vests, and necessary supplies.
- Volunteers are encouraged to wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and gloves.
- Bring a hiking buff and glasses for dust protection.
- Don’t forget to bring water and sun protection.

Background:
The sandbag removal in the Coconino Estates neighborhood is facilitated by the progress of the Schultz Creek Drainage Improvement project, aimed at alleviating the flood threat from the Pipeline Fire (2022). This project is funded by an appropriation from the State of Arizona during the 2023 legislative session.
