One Nutcracker, two Nutcracker: Tucson productions of holiday classic hit the boards

The holiday season in Tucson will see the enchanting ballet, “The Nutcracker,” take center stage with several productions showcasing this timeless classic.

The first performance, “Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet,” is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. The event will be held at Centennial Hall, located at 1020 E. University Blvd. Presented by Talmi Entertainment, this production features over 40 Vaganova-trained dancers, alongside local talents from the Flor de Liz Dance studio. Ticket prices range from $33 to $185, accommodating various budgets.

Also in the lineup is Dancing in the Streets’ “The Nutcracker Ballet,” set for Saturday, Dec. 21, and Sunday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. This performance will take place at the Temple of Music and Art, located at 330 S. Scott Ave. Dancing in the Streets emphasizes inclusivity in ballet education, catering to dancers from various backgrounds and abilities.
