Traffic Chaos: One Injured in Neck Brace After SR 347 Crash
A crash on State Route 347 near Maricopa on October 15, 2024, has resulted in one individual being hospitalized and significant traffic disruptions in both directions. The incident occurred at approximately 2:27 p.m., prompting a rapid response from the Maricopa Fire and Medical Department, Arizona state troopers, and officers from the Gila River Police Department.
Witnesses at the scene reported that a red sedan had rolled over and ended up in the median, although it remained upright. The vehicle displayed extensive damage, indicating a serious collision. Notably, this red sedan appears to be the sole vehicle involved in the incident.
Emergency responders quickly extracted the driver from the vehicle. At 2:30 p.m., the individual was placed on a gurney and transported to an ambulance while wearing a neck brace, highlighting the seriousness of their condition.
Current traffic conditions show that northbound lanes on SR 347 have been reduced to one lane, leading to significant delays, with backups extending approximately half a mile south of Casa Blanca Road. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
