Telesis Teacher Faces Court Next Week Over Alleged Sexual Misconduct with Runaway Minor
A Lake Havasu City educator, Robyn M. Rogers, 44, is to be arraigned in Mohave Superior Court following allegations of a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old runaway.
Rogers faces charges including two counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one felony count of custodial interference. Allegations indicate Rogers had inappropriate relations with the minor, identified as N.A., on two occasions in April and July.
Rogers was a school board liaison and coached students in life skills and child development at Telesis Preparatory Academy until her termination last week.
The investigation into N.A.’s disappearance began on Feb. 16. Authorities searched for over four months before locating N.A. at Rogers’ residence on Beefeater Drive.
On July 18, officers contacted Rogers at her home and saw N.A. attempting to leave. N.A. fled but was caught after a brief chase.
Following the initial investigation, Rogers was arrested on multiple charges, including providing false information, possession of drug paraphernalia, hindering prosecution, and possession of narcotics.
Telesis Preparatory Academy has since terminated Rogers’ employment, according to statements by founder and superintendent Sandy Breece.
Rogers remains in custody at the Mohave County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
