The crashes happened near the intersection of 19th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix. A driver has been detained and showed “signs of impairment.”
PHOENIX — A man has been detained and is being investigated for DUI after crashing into four other cars, according to the Phoenix Police and Fire Departments.
Phoenix police told Arizonanews.org that officers were called to the intersection of 19th Avenue and McDowell Road, right by the Arizona State Fair Grounds, at about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday due to multiple collisions in the area.
All of the collisions were related to one car.
When officers arrived, they found the car that was connected to all of the crashes and took the driver, an adult man, into custody.
The driver showed signs of impairment and is now being processed for DUI.
The crashes caused two adults to be taken to a nearby hospital for “precautionary reasons only.” Other people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The Phoenix Fire Department said five total vehicles were involved in this incident.
No one involved has been identified.
This is a developing story. More details will be added as they are made available.
