Stolen Glock Eludes Capture Amid Double Arrests of Alleged Violent Offender, 20
A 20-year-old man, described as violent, was arrested twice in two days last week, prompting ongoing investigations by the Maricopa Police Department. Maximilian J. Maldonado’s first arrest occurred on September 13 at his girlfriend’s residence in Santa Rosa Springs. Police responded to allegations of domestic violence, stating that Maldonado assaulted his girlfriend by striking her, pulling her hair, and pinning her against a wall.
Witnesses, including the girlfriend’s mother and a neighbor, confirmed the incident. Following the arrest, Maldonado was booked into Pinal County jail. He was released the next day after assuring a judge he would remain sober.
However, within hours of his release, authorities received a report of a missing Glock handgun linked to Maldonado. Police found him again at his girlfriend’s home, where he admitted to consuming alcohol, leading to his second arrest for interfering with court proceedings. During this encounter, officers uncovered the case belonging to the stolen firearm, but no charges related to the weapon or theft were filed.
When questioned about the recovery of the stolen gun, MPD spokesperson Monica Williams stated that the investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.
Maldonado currently faces a potential year in jail as legal proceedings continue.
