Shemer Art Center Invites Artists to Showcase Their Talent

“The Bountiful Mirage, triptych” by Laura Spalding Best, who will serve as juror for Shemer’s upcoming exhibit, “Light of Day.”

The Shemer Art Center has opened submissions for its upcoming exhibit, “Light of Day,” inviting Arizona artists to present their work featuring landscapes from natural to urban settings. The exhibit will run from Aug. 28 to Oct. 24 this year.

Artists are encouraged to submit pieces across various mediums, including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, ceramics, sculpture, wood, metal, fiber, and glass. The submission deadline is set for 5 p.m. on Aug. 2.

Additionally, the 2024 Shemer Arizona Arts Festival is scheduled for Nov. 2-3. This event will showcase works from over 40 Arizona artists in diverse mediums. Visitors can enjoy art demonstrations, meet Arizona authors, participate in an interactive $5 Art Zone, and enjoy live music, food, and drinks. The festival will also feature a silent auction, an interactive Blacksmith Village, and the return of the popular Sidewalk Chalk Festival.
