Road Closures Announced to Welcome New Lowe’s and Aldi Stores
Residents of Desert Cedars should brace for disruptions as a key entrance to their neighborhood undergoes closures starting Monday. Those who commute early or return home late will be particularly affected.
Global Water contractors will shut down a stretch of Desert Cedars Parkway. The closure, ranging from North Soft Wind Drive to North John Wayne Parkway, is scheduled for overnight hours from July 29 to August 8.
According to city spokesperson Monica Williams, the road will be inaccessible from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday. The closures are due to the installation of water lines for the forthcoming South Bridge development. This new development will house major retailers such as Lowe’s Home Improvement and Aldi, along with other commercial ventures.
“The roadway will reopen each day for travel,” Williams confirmed. During the closure, residents can utilize Bowlin Road to access homes situated east of the shutdown area.
