PHOENIX — A persistent high-pressure system will dominate the region as we head into the weekend, bringing high temperatures that may reach record levels. While residents can expect a gradual cooling trend by early next week, the forecast indicates temperatures in the double digits are on the way.

Today, there exists a slight chance for isolated showers, particularly in higher elevations.

Evenings are set to become more pleasant, introducing hints of fall weather that many will surely enjoy.

Looking ahead, the seven-day forecast features the following temperature highs and conditions:
