An extremely intoxicated 29-year-old man was restrained in a headlock after attacking his father and threatening to kill everyone in his Maricopa Meadows home, according to police reports.

Alexander S. Joubert faces several charges, including domestic violence assault, disorderly conduct, criminal damage, and threatening and intimidating. Conviction could result in a prison sentence of three to five years.

Maricopa police responded Wednesday to a disturbance at a residence on West Dirk Street. Upon arrival, officers found Joubert being subdued by a roommate.

According to the victims, Joubert’s aggression escalated when he was denied access to more alcohol. He attempted to fight his father, who was trying to help him. In a fit of rage, Joubert forced open a locked door to assault his father.

There were children in the home who could hear the commotion. Fortunately, they were unharmed.
