Pima County Launches Complimentary Legal Clinic for Felons

Pima County Public Defense Services will hold a free legal clinic on April 10, aimed at assisting individuals with felony convictions in Pima County Superior Court. This initiative focuses on helping participants seal their records, restore civil rights, and explore additional legal options.
The Pathway to Progress Legal Clinic is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Public Defense Services offices located at 33 N. Stone Ave., 10th floor. Services offered will include:
- Sealing felony criminal records
- Restoring civil rights or setting aside felony convictions
- Restoring gun rights
- Waiving or reducing outstanding fines and fees
- Designating an undesignated Class 6 conviction as a misdemeanor
- Expunging marijuana-related felony convictions
- Clearing warrants for failing to report to probation
This event, conducted in collaboration with the Superior Court and Adult Probation, has limited availability. Individuals interested in attending are encouraged to complete a pre-screening form to determine their eligibility, as walk-ins may not be guaranteed assistance.
Dean Brault, Director of Public Defense Services, emphasized the importance of accessible legal assistance. “Access to legal assistance should never be out of reach,” he stated. “We aim to remove as many roadblocks as possible through the legal process so people can move forward with opportunities to work toward a better future.”
