Phoenix VA Ignored Veteran’s Fatal Heart Attack at Entrance
In the spring of 2023, a military veteran tragically lost his life due to a cardiac episode while sitting in a car near the entrance of the Carl T. Hayden Veterans Administration Medical Center in Phoenix.
Witnesses say that despite the proximity to the hospital, medical staff did not intervene to provide basic life support. This crucial delay transferred the responsibility to the Phoenix Fire Department.
The fire department reportedly took 11 minutes to arrive on the scene, by which time it was too late to save the veteran.
This incident has sparked widespread criticism of the hospital’s emergency response protocols and raised questions about the readiness and effectiveness of the facility in handling critical situations involving veterans.
