Oscar Mayer Wienermobile Overturns in Shocking Crash
The hot dog-shaped vehicle was seen tipped on its side on the shoulder of a Chicago-area highway.
OAK BROOK, Ill — An Oscar Mayer Wienermobile faced an unexpected incident on a Chicago highway.
The hot-dog shaped vehicle collided with a car on Interstate 294 on Monday morning, according to Illinois State Police. The driver lost control and overcorrected, leading the Wienermobile to roll onto its side near Oak Brook.
Officials confirmed no injuries from the crash, which caused the closure of the right lane of northbound I-294 for over an hour.
A representative for Oscar Mayer told the Chicago Sun-Times that it’s “grateful that everybody involved is safe and there were no injuries.”
Video footage reveals the yellow and orange Wienermobile being towed away with noticeable damage on part of the vehicle.
