Muncy's sacrifice fly scores Ohtani with go-ahead run in 10th and Dodgers beat D-backs 4-3

LOS ANGELES — In a thrilling 10-inning showdown, the Los Angeles Dodgers edged out the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-3 Tuesday night, snapping a four-game losing streak. Max Muncy delivered the decisive blow with a sacrifice fly, bringing Shohei Ohtani home for the winning run.

Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto showcased an impressive performance, yielding only one hit over seven innings. His no-hit bid ended when Ketel Marte hit a single to lead off the seventh inning. Yamamoto struck out nine batters and tossed a career-high 110 pitches.

Arizona initially took control of the game, leading 3-1 in the top of the 10th following Corbin Carroll’s two-run homer against Tanner Scott. However, the Dodgers responded with three runs in the bottom half of the inning, turning the tide in their favor.

In the fourth inning, Los Angeles seized an early lead. Freddie Freeman doubled with two outs, followed by Will Smith’s double, scoring Freeman. As the game progressed, the Diamondbacks faced challenges, with all three of their runs attributed to Scott, who allowed a game-tying homer to Gabriel Moreno in the ninth.

Dodgers reliever Anthony Banda improved his record to 4-0, needing just six pitches to complete one-third of an inning. The series finale is set for Wednesday, featuring RHP Corbin Burnes (3-1, 2.56 ERA) for the Diamondbacks and RHP Dustin May (1-4, 4.43) for the Dodgers on four days’ rest.
