Morning Chill Gives Way to Pleasant Double-Digit Warmth Ahead
The double-digit highs in Phoenix are coming to an end, but a fleeting spike in temperatures is forecasted for Thursday. This high will be slightly below the seasonal average of 100°F, with mostly sunny skies expected to close out the week.
So far this year, Phoenix has experienced a staggering 113 consecutive days of 100°F or more, contributing to a total of 120 days exceeding this temperature, making it the eighth highest tally recorded in a single year. To break the record of 145 days set in 2020, the city needs 26 more days of 100°F this year, with the latest 100°F day recorded on October 27.
Residents can look forward to lower humidity and cooler temperatures for the remainder of the week. Friday will see Valley temperatures climb to the upper 90s, while the High Country can expect highs in the 70s.
A lack of moisture has diminished monsoon activity across the state. However, the upcoming weekend could bring isolated rain chances to the High Country, though heavy rainfall is not anticipated.
Despite the cooler trend, triple-digit temperatures are set to make a comeback in the lower deserts starting Sunday, with highs projected to reach the lower 100s.
The seven-day forecast indicates a gradual pattern of rising temperatures: Thursday’s high of 99°F will drop to 96°F on Friday, followed by 94°F on Saturday. By Sunday, temperatures will shoot up to 102°F, with Monday and Tuesday both expected to reach 104°F and 105°F, respectively.
