BULLHEAD CITY — A man who went missing while swimming in the Colorado River has been found safe, according to Bullhead City Police. Bryan Marroqin, 28, from Santa Ana, California, was reported swept away by the current while swimming without a life jacket on Saturday night.
Authorities began their search after Marroqin got separated from his friend while swimming from Nevada to Arizona near Park Lane. Despite an extensive search, including a helicopter survey of the river, there were no signs of him until early Sunday.
Bullhead City Police Department Public Information Officer Emily Fromelt confirmed that Marroqin was located around midnight on Sunday near Hancock Road and Highway 95 in Bullhead City.
Marroqin was last seen wearing sunglasses, a black swim suit, and black water shoes. He is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’11” tall, weighing between 175-200 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, a short beard, and gauge style earrings. He also has notable tattoos including an angel with chains on his right forearm, a skull closer to his wrist, and a clock near his elbow.
Further information was scarce until the police department announced at 9:48 a.m. that Marroqin had been found safe and well.
