Minor injuries reported in Tuesday watercraft collision on Colorado River

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Division of Boating Safety is currently investigating an incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon near Lake Havasu, resulting in injuries to two individuals.

According to Anita Mortensen, a public information specialist with the MCSO, officers were dispatched to the Sandbar area on the Colorado River around 2 p.m. following reports of a collision involving a boat and a personal watercraft.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that a southbound boat had been struck on the side by a personal watercraft that turned into its path. Two adult females riding the personal watercraft were ejected into the river and subsequently transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Fortunately, the occupants of the boat remained unharmed.
