Big weather changes heading our way

A significant cooldown is anticipated following a series of storms in Arizona.

As the weekend approaches, the weather will align closer to seasonal averages. On Saturday, the Valley will experience highs around 103 degrees, while the high country will see temperatures ranging from the 70s to 80s. Flagstaff, specifically, is expected to reach 78 degrees with possibilities for isolated showers.

Weather alerts are in effect for Sunday and Monday, signaling a shift to widespread showers and storms throughout the region. Lower desert areas could accumulate up to half an inch of rain by Monday.

The impending storms are set to break the streak of triple-digit temperatures. Starting Monday, highs in the lower deserts will drop to the 90s, a welcome change not seen since late May.

Here’s the seven-day forecast for the Valley:

SATURDAY: 103/83 Mostly sunny

SUNDAY: 100/83 Weather Impact Alert Day – Scattered Storms

MONDAY: 98/80 Weather Impact Alert Day – Scattered Storms

TUESDAY: 94/74 Mostly sunny, Much Cooler

WEDNESDAY: 94/70 Mostly sunny

THURSDAY: 93/70 Sunny sky

FRIDAY: 92/70 Sunny sky
