Lori Vallow Daybell Trial Enters Dramatic Day 3 in Arizona

PHOENIX — Lori Vallow Daybell’s murder conspiracy trial resumed on Monday after a tumultuous Friday led to her removal from the courtroom. This trial marks the third for Vallow Daybell in just as many years, as she faces charges related to an alleged conspiracy to kill her niece’s ex-husband, Brandon Boudreaux.
The incident in question occurred in October 2019 when Boudreaux was shot at outside his home in Gilbert. Although the bullet shattered his car window, he escaped unharmed. Vallow Daybell is representing herself in court and has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which come in addition to her previous convictions in Idaho and Arizona for the deaths of her children and the conspiracy to murder her former husband.
During Monday’s proceedings, Detective Ryan Pillar testified regarding evidence gathered in the case. Notably, he revealed conversations with Boudreaux and details on phone calls made between Vallow Daybell and her brother Alex Cox, who is considered a co-conspirator but died prior to the charges being filed.
Vallow Daybell’s questioning included attempts to establish inconsistencies in testimonies and investigations. The courtroom witnessed heated exchanges, further underscoring the contentious nature of the trial. Boudreaux has attended each day of testimony, his presence indicative of the case’s personal stakes.
In 2023, Vallow Daybell was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of killing her children, Tylee and JJ. She was also implicated in the death of Tammy Daybell, her current husband’s first wife. Similarly, Chad Daybell, her husband, was sentenced to death for his involvement in Tammy’s murder.
As of now, twelve jurors will deliberate on Vallow Daybell’s case, with three serving as alternates. The trial continues to unfold, drawing significant public attention.
