The Arizona House of Representatives is expanding its global outreach. Recently, they welcomed a 12-member delegation from the Republic of Indonesia at the state capitol. This group included elected officials, government representatives, and business leaders, underscoring the significance of the visit. Leading the delegation was Rahayu Saraswati Dhirakanya Djojohadikusumo, an influential member of Indonesia’s House of Representatives and Deputy Chairperson of the Great Indonesia Movement Party (GERINDRA).

Key Arizona legislators, including House Speaker Ben Toma, Majority Leader Leo Biasiucci, and Representative Justin Wilmeth, engaged with the delegation. Wilmeth, who serves as the Vice Chairman of the House International Trade Committee, expressed enthusiasm about the discussions. “It was a privilege to meet with the Indonesian delegation,” he remarked, noting the potential for trade and investment opportunities between the two entities. He emphasized that both regions share mutual interests in areas like education, mining, and technology manufacturing, signaling a willingness to strengthen economic ties.

This visit is indicative of Arizona’s ongoing efforts to cultivate international relationships, primarily facilitated by the House International Trade Committee. Their active participation in global dialogues has paved the way for future partnerships that could enhance economic collaboration and shared growth.
