Late day storms possible as heat ramps up


Storms could produce heavy rain, lightning, blowing dust, and wind.

PHOENIX — The Valley is bracing for increased storm activity due to rising moisture levels. Daytime highs this week are forecasted to soar above 110 degrees.

Residents should prepare for isolated to scattered storms on Tuesday afternoon and evening. Potential storm hazards include gusty winds, blowing dust, heavy rain, and lightning.

In Northern Arizona, storm chances are higher and could reach severe levels by Tuesday afternoon.

The Valley will continue to experience storm possibilities each afternoon and evening through Saturday. Drier conditions are expected to return over the weekend.

THURSDAY: 113°F/92°F – Scattered storm chances

FRIDAY: 111°F/91°F – Isolated storm chances

SATURDAY: 110°F/90°F – Isolated storm chances

SUNDAY: 109°F/89°F – Partly sunny

MONDAY: 109°F/88°F – Partly sunny
