U.S. Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.) intends to increase the frequency of mobile office hours in Maricopa, according to Field Representative Lori Mills. The congressman’s staff, who already operate from an office in the city, find the library setting more inviting for residents.
Mills told InMaricopa yesterday, “I’m going to try to do it every other month here because we have a big constituent base here.” Previously, Crane’s staff made appearances approximately every three months.
The congressman’s spokesperson was not immediately available to confirm the exact schedule for the additional office hours. Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District, which spans more than 20,000 square miles across nine counties, poses a challenge in accommodating constituents. To meet this challenge, Crane’s staff sets up mobile office hours in various cities including Maricopa, which is strategically located close to his residence in Oro Valley, even though it lies outside his district.
These mobile office hours provide constituents the opportunity to consult in-person on matters such as veterans’ services, passport issues, and various federal and state concerns. Crane last hosted mobile office hours in Maricopa in April, and the next sessions are anticipated for September and November, aligning with his reelection campaign timeframe.
