Northbound traffic on State Route 347 experienced delays at the Riggs Road intersection due to a three-car accident reported shortly before 2 p.m. this afternoon. Authorities are still assessing whether any injuries occurred as a result of the crash.

The scene saw a response from two officers of the Gila River Police Department and at least four officers from the Arizona Department of Public Safety. DPS spokesman Bart Graves indicated that the investigation has now been passed to the Gila River Indian Community Police Department.

Preliminary reports suggest a silver SUV collided with the rear of a larger silver SUV, both of which became disabled in the median. By 2:30 p.m., one of the SUVs was in the process of being towed, while the smaller vehicle remained stuck.

According to GRICPD spokeswoman Teaya Enos, the roadway was expected to reopen shortly after 3 p.m. as traffic management efforts continued. This incident is still developing, and updates will be provided as more details become available.
