On opening day, Cold Stone had some of the biggest sales in Arizona

Opening days for new restaurants in Maricopa often draw significant crowds, and the recently launched Cold Stone Creamery is no exception. The ice cream parlor, located at 17430 N. Porter Road, has reported impressive sales figures since its grand opening on September 13, 2024.

Franchise owner Luis Leon, a Tortosa resident, noted that the initial sales were among the highest in Arizona. “The whole weekend was good in terms of numbers, but Friday was a really, really good day for us,” he stated in an interview. Leon expressed pride in the store’s performance, indicating it ranked among the top sellers in the state.

Cold Stone Creamery, originally based in Scottsdale, operates in 33 countries and 48 states, with 45 locations across Arizona. Maricopa’s new shop marks a notable expansion for the franchise within the state.

Leon and his wife Adriana received an enthusiastic reception from the community, despite the overwhelming customer response, which made final sales calculations difficult. In a move to celebrate their success and foster community ties, Cold Stone plans to host a grand opening event on October 12, featuring music, face painting, and a balloon artist.

This establishment not only enriches the local dining scene but reflects the growing demand for unique dessert options in the area. Community engagement and customer satisfaction remain central to Leon’s vision as the business progresses.
