Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. leaves game against Packers because of a concussion

Green Bay, Wis. — Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. exited Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers due to a concussion sustained in the second quarter. The injury occurred when Harrison’s head collided with the thigh of Packers linebacker Isaiah McDuffie while attempting to catch a pass.

After the hit, Harrison struggled to regain his footing and ultimately headed to the injury tent. The Cardinals later confirmed he would not return for the remainder of the game.

“He ended up like hitting my leg,” McDuffie explained following the Packers’ 34-13 win. “I went to go tackle him, and he kind of ducked and ended up hitting my quad. It was a weird play.”

Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon acknowledged uncertainty regarding the severity of Harrison’s condition after the game. Harrison, who was drafted fourth overall this year, has made significant contributions with 17 receptions for 279 yards and four touchdowns this season.

In addition to Harrison, several other Cardinals players faced injuries during the match, including linebacker Kyzir White (knee), defensive tackle Bilal Nichols (stinger), safety Joey Blount (hamstring), left guard Evan Brown (ankle), and cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (neck).

The city of Phoenix boasts a vibrant sports scene, home to teams representing major professional leagues: the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, the NBA’s Phoenix Suns, the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, and MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks.

State Farm Stadium in Glendale serves as the Cardinals’ home field, while the Footprint Center hosts both the Suns and the Mercury. The Indoor Football League’s Arizona Rattlers play at Desert Diamond Arena, also in Glendale. Additionally, Phoenix Rising FC, a USL team, competes at their dedicated stadium in the city.

The Phoenix area is a hub for numerous high-profile sporting events, including college football’s Fiesta Bowl and Guaranteed Rate Bowl, along with the WM Phoenix Open, NASCAR races, and the Cactus League Spring Training for multiple MLB teams.
